Ironman

I'd like to tell you how much I liked this movie, but unfortunately I missed about 3/4 of it. Apparently it is completely acceptable now to talk on your cell phone during a movie. The people directly behind me, to my left, and to my right all answered calls during the movie and proceeded to have conversations. They didn't even try to be quiet. And then the same woman behind me yelled at her 2 year old daughter (who was at Ironman????) to "shut the fuck up. I'm tired of this shit." Oh, and between talking on the phone and verbally abusing her child, she was kind enough to provide an ongoing commentary to the movie. Usually you have to pay 20 dollars for a DVD to get those kind of special features!

Theramin

I made a photo theramin this weekend. I made it out of some photo resistors, old tv parts, and some electronic components. It was my first working piece of electronics I've made from scratch.

Apple App

I created my first OS X application! Although, it is in Java and OS X is based on linux, so it is incredibly easy. Nevertheless, its cool, and useful, and I launch it from the dock. Its a multimedia organizer for keeping track of my endless DVDs, CDs, vinyl, and books.

Presidential horse race

Let me start off by saying that Eight Belles death was absolutely horrific, and some serious questions need to be raised about horse breeding, the legal use of anabolic steroids in horse racing, and horse treatment.

If you don't know, Eight Belles had to be put down after the Kentucky Derby due to multiple leg fractures. But the evil side of me can't help but make a metaphor between this race and the democratic one. The only female contender in the race finishing second to Big Brown and then having to be "put down"* after. Its almost TOO good. Lets just hope Big Brown doesn't lose the Triple Crown to Crazy Old Dude.
